The session entitled “Atmospheric Electricity” in the Atmospheric Sciences program has been accepted by the program committee of Asia Oceania Geosciences Society (AOGS). Dr. Tai-Yin Huang, associate professor of Physics, will co-convene the session with Dr. Cheng-Ling Kuo of National Central University and Dr. Alfred Chen of National Cheng-Kung University of Taiwan.
The 12th annual AOGS meeting will be held in Singapore from Aug. 2 to Aug. 7, 2015. Presentations are invited on the topics related to all physically-coupled processes associated with electromagnetic and hydrodynamic drivers in the atmosphere, such as Transient Luminous Events (TLE), thunderstorms, lightning, gravity waves, and etc.
Dr. Huang was invited by Dr. Kuo to visit the Physics Department of the National Central University during the winter break to further discuss their collaborative research projects.
