Light Bulb Types: A, B, BR, CA, and G

Now let’s discuss the various light bulb types commonly used in the United States. Light bulb type refers to the part above the light bulb base. When you go to Home Depot, Walmart, or Lowes and check out the light bulb sections, you will find them come with many different types. Below are the images of light bulbs & its dimensions (width and length):


A19 (standard size): 2 3⁄8 inches (6.0325 cm), 4 1⁄2 inches (11.43 cm)



A15 (appliance size): 1 7/8 inches (4.7625 cm), 3 7/8 inches (9.8425 cm)



BR30: 3 3/4 inches (9.525 cm), 5 3/8 inches (13.6525 cm)



B8 (torpedo, petit): 1 inch (2.54 cm), 3.125 inches (7.9375 cm)



B10 (Torpedo) : 1.25 inches (3.175), 3.875 inches (9.8425)



CA10: 25/32 inches (1.984375 cm), 3 3/8 inches (3.375 cm)



G16.5: 2 1/16 inches (4.7625 cm), 3 3/8 inches (3.375 cm)



G25: 3 1/8 inches (7.9375 cm), 4 3/8 inches (11.1125 cm)
